Our Story
The Green Diva story began with a problem. A problem of finding the right bridal jewelry.
When I was preparing for my own wedding, bridal jewelry was one of the first items on my list and I assumed I would find it right away. But I couldn't have been more wrong. Time after time, every piece I came across seemed like the one before it. Where was the originality? The creativity? The luxury? Everything I came across was either cookie-cutter or cheaply made. I just couldn't seem to find the quality, made-for-me jewels I envisioned in my mind.
Not long thereafter, I became a jewelry designer; determined to make quality, custom jewelry more accessible to women and brides and give them original designs that could showcase their individuality. However, in the process of doing so, I uncovered a dirty little secret that stopped me dead in my tracks.
I learned that jewelry is one of the most toxic industries known to humankind. It has a long, tarnished history of exploiting artisanal workers, displacing entire communities, destroying agricultural lands, polluting drinking water for millions of people, funding rebel conflict wars and employing child labor. As an eco-enthusiast, this was tough to digest; and I realized that there was no possible way I could continue down this path knowing what I had come to learn.
My mission quickly became about more than just good fashion sense. I devoured any information I could find on the true impact of jewelry and painstakenly built a supply chain from scratch that reversed this destructive model. Instead of exploiting workers and polluting land, our jewelry is sourced in a way that encourages fair commerce and reinvests in the environment.
The result is a luxury line that showcases a bride's individuality in the most eco-conscious way. It's the perfect marriage of personal expression and social responsibility.
