5 Pillars of Green

Green Advocate

Our involvement works beyond the four walls of our studio. It is our goal to make going green increasingly simpler for our customers while also paving the way for our own industry to take on the green challenge as a whole. We hope to accomplish this in several ways.

For Customers
Green Diva offers several unique programs in which customers can recycle their jewelry and their cell phones; and even earn credit towards jewelry when they do. Proper recycling of metals, as contained in both jewelry and electronic equipment, is critical for the reduction of hazardous waste in landfills that become toxic when exposed to air. We encourage our customers to take advantage of all of our Recycling Programs.

Beyond these services, we also publish a blog and customer e-zine which contain a wealth of information about finding green resources, making sustainable choices and transitioning to an eco-lifestyle.

For the Jewelry Industry
Green Diva is a member of the manufacturing working group for the Madison Dialogue, a jewelry ethics reform effort in the United States that features an underground group of thoughtful industry leaders. The committees work on a number of initiatives to promote sustainable development, best practice, and certification or assurance in the sector. Our objective is to work toward the institution of formal certification in the industry that will verify for consumers the validity of environmental and fair trade practices of jewelry businesses and manufacturers. As of today, this certification does not exist...which is why our success in this undertaking is imperative.

As a demonstration of our commitment to resourcing only recycled metals, we were also one of the first 50 jewelers to sign the No Dirty Gold pledge.
